Common Sense in Education blog is devoted to investigating current national education reform measures that defies common sense of how to go about transforming education in a positive way that benefits all children, rather than moneyed interest groups. We seek to connect and communicate with individuals regardless of schooling preferences who strive, or at least yearn for, educational renewal that honors the dignity, rights, and freedom of teachers, parents, and students.

Gary Lamb is the Co-Director of the Hawthorne Valley Center for Social Research and a member of the Avalon Initiative Leadership Group. He has held  administrative positions for nine years in independent Waldorf Schools and concurrently taught high school economics, and has over fifteen years of experience in business management positions. He has written, lectured, and organized numerous events on the topics of freedom, equity, and funding in education.
